Seven attackers invaded the home and overpowered and assaulted a mom and four children. The attackers threatened to rape the young girls while demanding money and firearms.

Under pressure, the woman opened the safe and the attackers stole six firearms and fled the scene. There were no serious injuries but the children and mom have been severely traumatized.

The attackers arrived in two vehicles, a silver Toyota corolla and a white Ford ranger double cab bakkie with no registration plates. It has been reported that a white male was in one of the vehicles that dropped off some of the attackers. This is being investigated.

All role players responded and the police are investigating. There is no other information available at this stage.

A male, husband, and dad was with regret killed when he was shot in the head by terrorists. He was declared deceased at the scene.

The daughter was shot in her leg and very sadly the female, wife, and mother has since succumbed to her serious injuries.

The daughter messaged a neighbour for help and they in-turn raised the alarm. Both Mother and daughter were airlifted to hospital.

There have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.

There was yet another horrific farm attack on 1 August 2020, at 19:45, on the Swartkop road, in Muldersdrift, in the Gauteng.

An elderly Gentleman was tied up, assaulted and robbed. His family were then sexually assaulted by three attackers, two of which were armed.

The security gate and door were broken whilst the family was watching TV. Cell phones, a TV and a small amount of cash were taken during the assault.

Our thoughts are with the family who endured this horrendous trauma, the police are investigating, but there have been no arrests.

The farm attacker, a black male, fired a shot from outside the fence line at a woman and hit her in the leg and then fled.

ER24 transported the woman to the hospital. De Deur SAPS responded and are investigating. There have been no arrests.

A couple in their seventies and a friend were attacked by a Zimbabwean farmworker and two accomplices.

The three were assaulted, robbed and tied up by the worker who has been employed on the farm for a number of years already.

The terrorists robbed cell (mobile) phones and two safes with firearms that were broken out of the wall. They then fled in the victims’ vehicle, a White Nissan Navara, Registration MRH102W.

Local farmers and security structures responded but there have been no arrests. There is no other information at this time.

Two farmers murdered on July 25th. One was blind and farmed 70km outside PE and the other murder was apparently near Alexandria. Chrisjan van Niekerk has been murdered at his shop Big Five Zuney. The suspects fled on foot and were seen on the neighboring farm.

Muldersdrift, Gauteng

A farm attack took place on the evening of 24 July 2020, at 20:00, on a smallholding, in Muldersdrift, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. A man was shot after he had heard noises at his door and was then suddenly overpowered and shot below the knee by four attackers who plundered the home.

After stealing the man’s wallet, some appliance and phones the attackers fled the scene. The man is in hospital receiving medical attention. There have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.

Mokopane, Limpopo

22 July 2020 (17H00) Bert Kotzé (48) attacked as he was opening a gate on his Bellevue farm in the Tinyne area. Four suspects tied Bert and his workers up. Suspects fled when the community started responding after a family member could not get hold of him.

It is believed that this is the same group that attacked Bert on his farm on May 24, 2020. Heritage Protection Group followed up on the tracks to where the suspects were picked up by a vehicle on the tar road.

Ottosdal, North West

24 July 2020 (09H00) Sarel van Zyl (49) and a farmworker attacked a farm outside Ottosdal. Three suspects tied up the worker before entering the residence, whereby they started searching for goods.

Sarel heard them and drew his weapon on the suspects. Suspects fled, and the farming community responded and detained the three.

Northam, Limpopo

19/7/2020: Farmer encountered an intruder on his way to his water pump. A fight ensued and the farmer managed to fire shots, hitting the suspect in his leg with the third shot. The suspect was arrested.

No serious injuries reported.

Frankfort, Free State

23 July 2020, at 01:42, after the swift response of a local farmer. A woman who was alone on the farm in Frankfort, Free State called for assistance after her dogs were barking incessantly. Tracks of two suspected terrorists and a knife were recovered outside the home.

The swift response probably saved another white persons life in South Africa. The woman was temporarily placed with family who stays nearby until her husband, who is away for work, returns.

There is no other information available at this stage. Police are investigating, there have been no arrests.

An unknown number of farm attackers invaded the farmhouse, the couple Ben and Estelle Vosloo locked the bedroom door, the attackers then fired shots through the door.

The couple took refuge in the attached bathroom and called for help on the farm watch radio.

The attackers ransacked the home and fled. Fortunately the couple were not injured or shot. The police are investigating the attack but there have been no arrests.

Over the weekend, the party joined a group of organisations, neighbourhood watches and other people who helped four small-scale farmers in Elandsfontein, south of Johannesburg, to protect their land and possessions from hundreds of land grabbers who invaded the agricultural land.

Landowners’ homes were bombarded with petrol bombs while hundreds of people sang loudly and ran around with knives and pangas.

The group of angry land grabbers returned to the land after the Johannesburg Metro Police tore down illegal structures on the small holdings on 25 June 2020, in accordance with a court order.

Land grabs in Gauteng are on the rise and authorities cannot allow farmers’ land and possessions to be put at risk in this way.

The FF Plus will continue to encourage the authorities to ensure that properties and people’s lives are protected.

Alan and Martie Wolmarans were overpowered by farm attackers. Alan was assaulted badly and Martie(44) was shot to death. Alan is still alive but in a very serious condition.

There were three or four farm attackers

During this assault on the Wolmarans family, which took place at about 21:30, another 91 year old female victim also hurt during the attack. Seems that nothing was stolen during the assault.

The activist lived on a small holding in the Sundrella area, near Lanseria, on the outskirts of Gauteng.

A Facebook post on Friday said: “During the early morning hours of Friday, 3 July 2020, an armed robbery took place at the property of Jules Stobbs and Myrtle Clarke, best known as The Dagga Couple. The attackers entered the couple’s bedroom and shot and fatally wounded Jules Stobbs. Myrtle was physically left unharmed and the attackers made off with two cellphones and two laptops.

“The Cannabis community is mourning the passing of our hero. The family is requesting that the public respect their privacy and allow Myrtle and the family some space during this difficult time.  Thank you for the outpouring of love we have already received.”

Ian Cameron, AfriForum’s national head of community safety, told IOL the incident happened at about 2.30am on Friday. He said information at his disposal was that four male suspects stormed the property and ransacked it, taking money and other items. 

He said there was a struggle between the attackers and the deceased, which culminated in the suspects leaving the property. Moments later, however, the suspects returned and shot Stobbs. 
He said Stobbs died on the scene, while Clarke was okay and did not suffer any bodily injuries. 

The Dagga Couple has been hailed as being instrumental in the battle for the decriminalisation of dagga for personal use in South Africa after they were arrested in 2010.
The Constitutional Court ruled in September 2018, in support of a Western Cape High Court judgment, to decriminalise the possession and personal use of cannabis in a private space by adults.
Following the ruling, the couple then set their sights on a mass class action against the State, to free those who have criminal records for the possession of dagga.
