Seven attackers invaded the home and overpowered and assaulted a mom and four children. The attackers threatened to rape the young girls while demanding money and firearms.

Under pressure, the woman opened the safe and the attackers stole six firearms and fled the scene. There were no serious injuries but the children and mom have been severely traumatized.

The attackers arrived in two vehicles, a silver Toyota corolla and a white Ford ranger double cab bakkie with no registration plates. It has been reported that a white male was in one of the vehicles that dropped off some of the attackers. This is being investigated.

All role players responded and the police are investigating. There is no other information available at this stage.

Brendin was attacked and brutally murdered by an unknown number of attackers after leaving his father’s farm at 7pm, then at later the evening about at 10pm the family went looking for him as he never arrived home but found nothing and could not reach him on his phone.

On Friday morning, Brendin’s father continued the search.

Near the farm gate, they found Brendin’s cap with a knife on it. His body was found some distance away.

Brig. Free State police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele said earlier that Brendin’s Hilux bakkie had been found abandoned along the S194 near another farm.

There were quite a few blood stains in the vehicle.

Brendin was allegedly stabbed several times with a knife and also had a head wound.

There is no other information available at this stage. The police are investigating but there have been no arrests.

Attackers opened fire on the home and a brave Marelie Wroe emptied one and a half magazines from the farmhouse window, in their direction.

The attackers fired at least seven shots at the home were a family of three and a friend were enjoying the evening. Follow up operations by farmers in the area responded and secured the scene.

The availability of a firearm that is close and not in a safe will save your life. There have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.

A woman (67) was attacked and beaten unconscious by a single farm attacker after she had opened the door and let her dog out. She only recovered consciousness just before 08:00 and discovered that she didn’t have her underwear anymore.

She suffered a number of small wounds around her head and face and has possibly sustained a broken jaw. The attacker, a farm worker, simply followed the dog back into the home, he immediately went to the draw and retrieved the woman’s wallet from which she had paid him his wages on Friday 7 August 2020. The dog, familiar with the attacker, didn’t even bark.

The attacker then turned around and continuously assaulted the woman her over the head. The glass door broke out of the wall during the struggle. She was found by her son, who lives in a close by flat, who had come to check on his mother and found her with the severe injuries.

He alerted the community who quickly responded, and arranged for South African Police Service (SAPS) and Legacy ambulance services. She knew the attacker, and the community delivered him to SAPS within 45 minutes. The victim was made comfortable, and the crime scene was preserved for SAPS.

She was taken to Bronkhorstspruit hospital after the investigation.

A couple, Chris and Leonise Joubert were severely assaulted and the wife was shot and violently raped. An elderly mother (99) had a firearm shoved in her mouth, she said to the attackers “I’m old shoot me” the attackers then left her and continued their rampage through the home.

The man and his wife were assaulted very very badly and his wife was shot in the leg and raped by the attackers, the couple have been evacuated to a hospital in Polokwane.

A hunting rifle, a white Nissan Nirvana double cab with registration BNC534L, a TV and cellphones were taken.

Local farmers and police organised a swift operation and pursued the attackers. During the pursuit a shootout ensued and one attacker was shot dead. Two others were arrested. The stolen items were recovered. Three other attackers are still being sought.

Irene Muhl (64), was violently assaulted by an unknown number of attackers and was found severely injured on the dining room floor of her farmhouse after security personnel responded to a panic alarm.

Muhl suffered a number of stab wounds to her head, body and legs and was seriously assaulted. She was stabilized and rushed by emergency services to hospital for attention.

The home was ransacked but it is unclear at this stage what was robbed. A manhunt was launched by local farmers and police but there have been no arrests.

A male, husband, and dad was with regret killed when he was shot in the head by terrorists. He was declared deceased at the scene.

The daughter was shot in her leg and very sadly the female, wife, and mother has since succumbed to her serious injuries.

The daughter messaged a neighbour for help and they in-turn raised the alarm. Both Mother and daughter were airlifted to hospital.

There have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.

There was yet another horrific farm attack on 1 August 2020, at 19:45, on the Swartkop road, in Muldersdrift, in the Gauteng.

An elderly Gentleman was tied up, assaulted and robbed. His family were then sexually assaulted by three attackers, two of which were armed.

The security gate and door were broken whilst the family was watching TV. Cell phones, a TV and a small amount of cash were taken during the assault.

Our thoughts are with the family who endured this horrendous trauma, the police are investigating, but there have been no arrests.
