Irene Muhl (64), was violently assaulted by an unknown number of attackers and was found severely injured on the dining room floor of her farmhouse after security personnel responded to a panic alarm.
Muhl suffered a number of stab wounds to her head, body and legs and was seriously assaulted. She was stabilized and rushed by emergency services to hospital for attention.
The home was ransacked but it is unclear at this stage what was robbed. A manhunt was launched by local farmers and police but there have been no arrests.

Jewelry and a phone were robbed, The man did not suffer serious injury. Local farmers reacted swiftly but there was no arrest.

Muldersdrift, Gauteng
A farm attack took place on the evening of 24 July 2020, at 20:00, on a smallholding, in Muldersdrift, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. A man was shot after he had heard noises at his door and was then suddenly overpowered and shot below the knee by four attackers who plundered the home.
After stealing the man’s wallet, some appliance and phones the attackers fled the scene. The man is in hospital receiving medical attention. There have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
Mokopane, Limpopo
22 July 2020 (17H00) Bert Kotzé (48) attacked as he was opening a gate on his Bellevue farm in the Tinyne area. Four suspects tied Bert and his workers up. Suspects fled when the community started responding after a family member could not get hold of him.
It is believed that this is the same group that attacked Bert on his farm on May 24, 2020. Heritage Protection Group followed up on the tracks to where the suspects were picked up by a vehicle on the tar road.
Ottosdal, North West
24 July 2020 (09H00) Sarel van Zyl (49) and a farmworker attacked a farm outside Ottosdal. Three suspects tied up the worker before entering the residence, whereby they started searching for goods.
Sarel heard them and drew his weapon on the suspects. Suspects fled, and the farming community responded and detained the three.
Northam, Limpopo
19/7/2020: Farmer encountered an intruder on his way to his water pump. A fight ensued and the farmer managed to fire shots, hitting the suspect in his leg with the third shot. The suspect was arrested.
No serious injuries reported.
Frankfort, Free State
23 July 2020, at 01:42, after the swift response of a local farmer. A woman who was alone on the farm in Frankfort, Free State called for assistance after her dogs were barking incessantly. Tracks of two suspected terrorists and a knife were recovered outside the home.
The swift response probably saved another white persons life in South Africa. The woman was temporarily placed with family who stays nearby until her husband, who is away for work, returns.
There is no other information available at this stage. Police are investigating, there have been no arrests.

The attackers stole cables from the main pump and then fled the scene with the stolen cables. There were no injuries. Tactical K9 unit and the SAPS responded. There have been no arrests.

]]>During the first attack shortly after 18:00 on Friday, July 3, four attackers armed with 9 mm pistols and a shotgun attacked a father, his two teenage sons, and a family member on a farm in Kareepoort, Brits.
Jan Botes (50), his two teenage boys, and a family member Jan van Deventer, were sitting in the house drinking coffee when the dogs started barking. ′′ Botes sent his son to go see what the dogs are barking at. The boy came back and screamed, “there are men.” When Botes opened the door, the attackers hit him on the forehead with a shotgun according to Thys van Heerden of the Afriforum neighborhood watch.
The farm attackers told Botes he shouldn’t try anything funny. The family was tied up with electric cables. Botes was assaulted and his puppy was shot dead.
The attackers asked for money in the vault. There wasn’t a vault and the house was looted.
When the attackers left the family managed to untie themselves and one of the boys ran bare torso to neighbors to summon help.
An hour later there was another attack on a farm in Kleinfontein
]]>“The group of farm workers were sitting around a fire shortly after 22:00 when four armed men appeared. They fired random shots and assaulted the farm workers, demanding money and cellphones. After they robbed the workers, they grabbed the boy en fled into the bushes,” said Chris Degenaar of Tactical K9 Africa, a rural safety service.
“We received an emergency call and rushed to the scene. After establishing that the farm workers were not seriously injured, Tactical K9 members immediately went out searching for the child and the attackers. About 200 m from where the attack took place, they heard a child screaming and found the severely traumatised boy in the bushes where the attackers had left him.” The child was unharmed.
Degenaar said the security members lost the attackers’ spoor in the bushes.
The farm attackers fled with money and cellphones.
“We suspect it is the same gang that has been terrorising farmers and farm workers in the area for the past month. They also attacked farm workers at a nearby farm last weekend.”
The police were on the scene and are looking for the attackers.
]]>Five farm attackers removed the glass sliding door and cut the security gate to gain entry to the home. The attackers were armed with knives and a panga.
The couple Johan and Susan Breedt fought back and the male victim laid into the attackers with a sjambok causing them to all flee the home.
The couple were fortunate to have been able to fend off the attackers and only suffered minor injuries. The female victim suffered a minor wound to her forehead.

]]>Uncle Piet (canon) Pieterse was attacked with a panga in his house on the farm Koedoesdraai. Two balaclava-clad attackers, both speaking Afrikaans, overpowered Pieterse in his home and severely assaulted him. He sustained two severe gashes to his head and across his right eyebrow.
His security gate at the front door lock was clipped with a bolt cutter and strangely the dogs outside did not bark. It is unclear whether further attackers were involved.
Two hunting rifles and a .22 revolver were stolen. His Mercedes vehicle and cellphone were also stolen. The vehicle was found on the Leeudoringstad, Orkney tar road after 23:00.
Uncle Piet was taken to Ancron clinic in Klerksdorp where he was admitted for a brain scan and head wounds.

]]>Trymore Wasarirevhu was overpowered and shot, once through the ear and then shot twice in the legs.
His wife and daughter had arrived home during the attack and the attackers assaulted her demanding money and firearms. The attack took place in front of their disabled son (6).
The landlord who investigated the shooting also came under fire from the attackers from the nearby bush just after they had fled the scene.
The home was ransacked and a number of items stolen during the attack. The man and his wife were admitted to hospital in Brits.
The police are investigating but there have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
]]>The attack lasted for two hours. Schalk was tortured with boiling water and very badly beaten, then tied up and dumped in the shower, where he was later found in a serious condition.
Lana was very badly assaulted and the the couple had to be transported to Kimberly for urgent medical attention and trauma support.
After a lookout was circulated for the couples vehicle, a Nissan x trail, that was robbed during the attack and swift reaction and response from local farmers, Rhino security, Oorgrens veiligheid, police and the public all four attackers were arrested within four hours of the attack.
