The owner of a Midlands restaurant in Balgowan was killed on Saturday morning.

Riaan Claassen of Ballid Security said that it is alleged that a person walked onto the farm and approached the owner in his workshop and demanded cash.

His fiance managed to escape and ran to the main gate of Michealhouse School where she relayed what happened to Ballid security guards who called the ambulance and police.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Joshua Maistry confirmed a case of murder was registered at the Nottingham Road police station.

The owners of a well known eatery was attacked at their establishment at around 8am on Saturday morning. The assailants brutally attacked the owner with a panga while his fiance escaped. The owner sadly passed away from his injuries.

“The brutal killing of one of the most gentle and loving members of our community is a tragedy. A life was lost to criminals in such a merciless manner and will leave a scar on our community for years to come.”

SAPS Nottingham Road has indicated that the assailant is still at large and the investigation is ongoing. No suspects have been arrested.

It’s time for farms in various areas to unite and decide what the future holds There are hundreds of white males young and strong who have families who would praise God for the opportunity to work on a farm and be security at the same time. Only asking for a small payment and accommodation and food People look around and realize it is people on the farms that are giving out the information to the security on the farms Cb radios was a hit in its time bring it back between the farmers
