An elderly couple was attacked on Friday afternoon by 6 black males wearing police reflective vests.
Farmer Allen Peeters was overpowered outside the farmhouse by the 6 attackers, 5 of whom had handguns and one armed with an automatic assault rifle.
Peeters was forced inside the house, assaulted and strangled with a cable tie.
His wife, Louise, was also overpowered when she returned home from Sasolburg and tied up.
The attackers robbed money, jewellery and 5 firearms and fled the farm in a silver-grey Toyota Fortuner and Toyota bakkie with Gauteng number plates.
The couple was able to call for help and Police processed the scene for clues.
No arrests have been made.
