A farm murder took place on 18 July 2019, in the Frankfort District, Free State province. An elderly upcoming farmer, Johannes Mazibuko (71) was attacked by six suspects and had his throat slit.
One of the suspects was found with cattle stolen from the farm and further investigation eventually lead police to find the body of the man.
This follows another farm murder in the Free State province, after the gruesome murder of Isak Johannes Jacobus (Sakkie) van den Berg (67) and his wife Ina Ockenlina (61) in Bloubos farm in Boshof district.
The suspect will appear in court on Monday 22 July 2019.
